REGO 1519A4 Excess Flow Valves for Liquid or Vapor Line Service
Brand: REGO
Model: 1519A4HOT
Connection size: 2 “NPT
Material: Brass
Temperature range: -40 ℃~73 ℃
Applicable occasions:Liquid or Vapor Line Service
Application: where an in-line valve is the only option
A tank-mounted excess flow valve protects the tank connection. It cannot protect what happens 200 feet downstream. The 1519 series is built for that gap: top installation, in any position, on liquid or vapor service lines, for long runs or branch piping where a tank-mounted valve cannot suffice.
Typical duty: bulk plant and cylinder-filling headers, vapor equalizing lines, branch drops off a main run, and any line where a single tank valve would leave a long unprotected section.
Features: what each design detail actually does
- Precision-machined poppet, stem and guide. The poppet only closes at its rated flow if the guide holds it square; a machined fit is what keeps closure repeatable instead of drifting with wear.
- Generous flow channels. Full-area passages keep pressure drop low, so the valve does not become the bottleneck on a long liquid run.
- Cotter pin through the spring retainer. Vibration on a pump or compressor line can walk a retainer out of its groove; the pin removes that failure path.
- Stainless steel spring. A spring that does not corrode or relax holds the same closing flow over its service life — which is the whole point of a safety device.

FAQ
What is an in-line excess flow valve used for?
It protects a long run or branch line that a tank-mounted valve cannot reach. The 1519 series installs on top of liquid or vapor LPG lines, in any position, and closes when flow exceeds its rated closing flow.
Which size do I need for a 2 in LPG line?
Two models fit 2 in NPT: 1519A4 / A1519A4 at 100 GPM liquid propane closing flow, and 1519B4 / A1519B4 at 133 GPM. Choose by the flow the line must pass, not by pipe size alone — same 2 in body, 33% difference in closing flow.
What is the difference between 1519A and 1519B?
Only the closing flow. 1519A4 closes at 100 GPM propane, 1519B4 at 133 GPM, in the same 2 in body with the same 4 13/16 in effective length. The 1519B exists only in the 2 in size.
What is the difference between 1519 and A1519?
Body material. 1519A / 1519B use a brass body, brass poppet with integral stem and brass guide. A1519 uses a cadmium-plated steel body and disc, stainless steel stem and ductile iron guide. Flow ratings are the same for equivalent sizes.
Can it be installed vertically or at an angle?
Yes. It is designed for top installation in any position. Published closing flows are based on horizontal installation; outlet up gives slightly more flow, outlet down slightly less.
What are the closing flows at 25 and 100 PSIG?
From 5,000 / 8,500 SCFH on the 1 in model up to 45,000 / 82,000 SCFH on the 3 in A1519A6. The 100 PSIG figure runs 1.70–1.82× the 25 PSIG figure across the range.
Does the rating apply to butane or anhydrous ammonia?
For liquid service, multiply the propane liquid flow by 0.94 for butane and 0.90 for anhydrous ammonia. The factors are published for liquid flow only, not vapor.
Is it UL Listed, and what warranty does it carry?
Yes — UL Listed, and covered by RegO’s 10-year warranty.
What connections does it have?
Inlet NPT, outlet female NPT, in 1, 1½, 2 and 3 in.
